About the LJGA
The Lawyers and Judges Golf Association has existed for over 80 years and consists of lawyers, judges and others related to the legal profession throughout Northern California. It is an Associate Club of the NCGA. Members' golfing abilities range from near scratch to indexes of over 30. Both men and women are welcome.
Membership in the Association includes membership in the Northern California Golf Association and an official NCGA/GHIN Index. The Association generally has outings once a month from March through November at excellent courses throughout Northern California. Some examples of recent scheduled outings are: Olympic Club, Sonoma Golf Club, Lake Merced C.C., Contra Costa C.C., Green Hills C.C., Blackhawk C.C., and Sequoyah C.C.
The Association also participates in NCGA individual and team events. Qualifiers play at courses such as Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
Outings are generally on weekday afternoons, sometimes hosted food following the round, when prizes are announced. Socializing, a bit of libation, and joke-telling are not unheard of. Discussions usually revolve around how to cure that wicked hook, or how the new Callaway driver hits it 20 yards longer, but a few business deals or referrals have also been known to occur.
We are actively soliciting new members, the more the merrier. We accept non-lawyer affiliate members, such as court reporters, insurance claims people, and other professionals and business people.
