Point System

In 2005, we started a season-long point system. High point winner is crowned L&JGA "Player of the Year". The winner will get possession of the actually fabulous Bridgett Trophy, named after long time-member, Art Bridgett, who passed in 2005 at age 94. Art was one of the founding partners of Hanson Bridgett.  He was a member of Lawyers & Judges Golf Association for 40-plus years, serving many years on the Board and serving as President. He remained active in the club well into his 80s. We think the PGA copied our format for the FedEx Cup.

Peter Mankin won the first Trophy in 2005. Co-President, Thomas Brooks won in 2018.

Points are awarded as follows: Monthly regular tournaments: 1st Place: 100; 2nd: 50; 3rd: 25, for both gross and net. Closest to hole winners: 10 pts. NCGA qualifiers: 25 pts. Jimmy Naylor Memorial: 200/100/50 pts., gross and net. Match Play Championship: Winner: 300 pts.; Runner up: 150 pts.; Semifinalists: 75 pts.; Quarterfinalists: 35 pts.
